Veterinary Surgeon - Portobello, Edinburgh

We are keen to recruit a fun, happy and caring small animal vet to join our friendly team, for a maternity cover to start In May 2019.

The practice:
Abercorn's main branch is located in Portobello, while we also have branches at Raeburn Place Stockbridge, and Gilmerton. We are currently working towards becoming a feline friendly practice and are already accredited with the Rabbit Welfare Association as rabbit friendly. We have digital x-ray, dental x-ray and ultrasound machines along with in house Idexx blood machines to aid with case work ups. We currently have 4 full-time vets and 3 part-time along with 6 RVNs, 1 SVN and 3 receptionists.

The role:
We are keen to recruit a fun, happy and caring small animal vet to join our friendly team, for a maternity cover to start in May 2019, to work 2·3 days per week.

Successful candidate:
The successful candidate will be friendly, hardworking and enjoy working as part of a team. Ideally they will have surgical experience and be competent at routine procedures such as neutering (dogs, cats and rabbits) and dental work. Newly qualified vets will be considered.

The package:
No on call or out of hours. Varied shift patterns working on a rota basis for Saturday mornings. We offer a health scheme, generous CPD allowance and pension scheme.
