Small animal vet required for Hospital practice in Worksop, nr Sheffield

Independent, single site, first opinion small animal hospital in Worksop seeks enthusiastic vet to join our team of 10.5 vets, 17 RVNS and support staff. We have a good range of ages and skills within our existing vet team - sadly we are losing 2017's new grad to an internship, but she is happy to chat to any prospective candidates about her experiences working for us.

Our purpose built Hospital contains separate cat/dog waiting, consult and inpatient areas, a range of wards and an extensive theatre/prep area. Our latest investments are a CT scanner and an end of life suite.

Cases can be worked up to a high standard with a good percentage of insured clients, and 20-minute consults as standard, and we pride ourselves on our inpatient care, with one vet working just with hospital patients each day. We are a gold standard feline friendly practice, have a visiting specialist ultrasonography team and certificate holders within the practice who are always keen to help.

Work-life balance is vital to our rota, with no ‘on call’ shifts, instead we work a week of nights every 9 weeks, with a week off afterwards (in addition to your holiday allowance). In addition you will work 2 weekends in 9 (days only) with days off in lieu. Our average week is 38.7 hours.

We are ideally looking for someone with a basic grounding in first opinion practice, who is looking for that next step job where they can expand on their skills to develop them into the vet they want to be, including funding to certificate level if desired. Our unique rota means you will have 11 weeks off every year to explore outside interests and the beautiful countryside around us, while allowing you to enjoy the time you spend at work. Generous salary dependant on experience, with bonuses for night work.
