Surgery Information / Job Description
Are you looking for more than just a "job"? Would you like to work somewhere your colleagues will feel like family, and clients will become old friends?

By joining Vets4Pets Bolton, you will of course enjoy a competitive salary, great benefits and a varied caseload, but it’s even more important to us that you’re happy at work, feeling valued and included.

You’ll become an important part of an established practice where looking after colleagues and clients is the top priority. Yes, the animals are important but we know that none of this would be possible (or as much fun) without the humans!

Just like in a real family, we all support one another, offering a hug whenever it’s needed. Everybody mucks in to get things done - even our vets clean floors and help close practice down so that we can all get out in time to enjoy our evenings. The perfect vets for us will want to be a part of all that.

Working here, you’ll have the pleasure of meeting some of the best clients in Bolton! We love to really get to know our clients and their pets, sharing jokes (and, again, hugs!), and they love knowing that we really do care about them, not just their money.

Our practice owner, Ruth Harrison, has over 30 years’ experience and leads a fabulous team of 3 other Vets, 4 RVNs, 1 SVN a Practice Manager and 4 Receptionists. The team really supports Ruth in running a compassionate and efficient vet practice.

We’re conveniently situated amongst various shops and restaurants, with Bolton City Centre just a ten minute drive away. The surgeryis purpose-built to industry leading standards and has state-of-the-art equipment including a lab, pharmacy, digital x-ray, K-Laser and ultrasound.

Person Specification
To be successful, you’ll share in our ethos of caring for all our colleagues, regardless of position. We’re looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon who is confident in all routine surgical and clinical procedures. We are able to consider full or part time hours, depending on your circumstances and ideally you’ll be able to work 1 in 3 Saturday mornings 9am-12pm. What’s more, you won’t be asked to work OOH!

To support the growth of the business, we are also looking to take on a new graduate. You’ll receive a wealth of support and exposure which will really help you to find your feet as a vet!

Benefits
As you would expect from the market leader in small animal veterinary care, we offer:

  • Excellent career opportunities and development due to our varied caseload
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Generous CPD and funding of certificates for the right candidate
  • Paid memberships (RCVS, VDS)
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards

If you share our passion for people as well as pets, we would love to hear from you.

We are an equal opportunities employer.

Locally owned practices with a world of support

At Vets for Pets we’re a network of practices that are owned and managed by the practice owners that run them. Because they’re locally owned, each practice has the freedom to serve patients and clients the way it thinks is best.

But crucially, being locally-owned also means enjoying a truly team-spirited atmosphere. We want all our colleagues to build lasting relationships with practice owners and team members as well as patients and clients.

And because we’re also part of a wider group, you’ll get all the support you need when you need it. That means state-of-the-art facilities, high quality CPD, financial stability and a real sense of job security.

With our framework, we’ve made it simpler and easier for you to help patients and clients live happier, healthier lives together. It’s about making the most of your expertise and bringing this to life in practise while being safe in the knowledge that you’re looked after too. Simply put, we offer locally owned practices with a world of support.

Flexibility & Wellbeing
You tell us which hours you want to work, and we’ll do everything we can to make it happen. With us, you could enjoy a better work-life balance where flexibility and wellbeing come first.

Training & Development
We offer great training programmes, plus fully funded CPD, leadership courses and access to our group’s learning curriculum. We’ll also support you if you’re interested in owning a practice. With our wealth of resources, it’s easy to build your skills and develop your career.

Local Practices
With us, no two practices are the same. We’re deeply rooted in our local communities and we want you to really get to know your patients and clients locally.

Being part of the Pets At Home Group
Being part of Vets for Pets means you’ll be part of our network of locally owned practices. Our practices are located across the country and are owned and run by our Joint Venture Partners (JVPs). Our Joint Venture Partnership model is unique and gives everyone the best of both worlds. Working within one of our practices you’ll get to work with the JVP who has the clinical freedom and autonomy to do things their own way.

As we’re part of a large respected organisation you’ll also enjoy the benefits of being part of a wider PLC Group. This means we can give you greater stability and job security during these uncertain times and beyond.

What’s more, we’ve worked hard to make sure everyone in our group can take part in a fun, friendly, professional and inclusive culture that allows you to bring your whole self to work and be at your very best.
