Job Details

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced vet to lead our team at Halton.

The practice:
Calder Vets is a well-respected 13-site practice with a central RCVS Tier 3 hospital. Our sites span West and South Yorkshire. Our ethos is to have the happiest team, the healthiest pets and the most satisfied clients in Yorkshire.

We aim to provide gold standard care and have a strong focus on personal development. CPD to certificate level is positively encouraged and there is a clear career progression structure within the practice. We are lucky that our operating sites are supported by our Tier 3 hospital at Dewsbury with onsite CT, endoscopy and high spec lab. Paragon Referrals is our Specialist-led referral centre where our clients and pets are fortunate to have access to state of the art facilities and expertise.

The Paragon team offers lots of support to our vets with telephone advice and teleradiology and our vets are also encouraged to follow cases over for their own personal development.

The role:
Halton is a new, growing site which boasts a fantastic team with qualified nurses. It is a fully operational site equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound and capnography so we can provide an excellent level of patient care with the support of 24/7 out-of-hours hospital at Dewsbury and the specialists at Paragon Veterinary Referrals.

Successful candidate:
We are looking for an experienced, patient-focussed vet who is comfortable offering gold standard care at all times. A candidate with 4-5 years or more experience would be ideal.

The package:
Excellent salary commensurate with experience, £2,000 + 5 days CPD (although certificates encouraged and therefore this is flexible), RCVS fees paid, Employee Assistance Programme.

If we sound like the right practice for you but this position is not the right fit, we’d still love to hear from you.

Company

Our mission at Calder Vets is simply this – to provide a first class personal, caring and professional service to you and your pet, backed up by some of the best facilities in the North of England.

We will do our utmost to provide and advise you on the best preventative healthcare. However, should your pet become ill we will always try and discuss all the available options with you; from basic, simple treatments through to more advanced tests and procedures, should they be required. This means you can make the right decision for your pet armed with all the information you need.

Our vets will always advise you based on what they genuinely believe is in the best interests of your pet. No one at Calder Vets is on commission or ‘performance related pay’, and never will be. All we ask our vets and nurses is that they look after your pets as if they were there own. The number of clients who recommended us to their friends and family is hopefully testament to this.

The nature of Veterinary Medicine is changing, but our practice is still owned by and run by Vets only. This is something that will never change.
