AdvantEdge - the next step in your career

It takes a certain calibre of Vet Surgeon to thrive in the challenging world of Emergency and Critical Care. At Vets Now we care about the development of our people and that’s why we have introduced AdvantEdge, a two week ECC programme for Vets who posses at least two years post qualification experience.

75 hours of free CPD designed by veterinary experts

The AdvantEdge programme contains a minimum of 75 hours of free CPD designed and delivered by veterinary experts that will give you the best possible start with Vets Now. The lectures and practical sessions are delivered by Advanced Practitioners and experienced emergency clinicians at our training facility in Dunfermline. Topics covered include blood gas analysis, managing shock and neurological emergencies as well as practical sessions on CPR and ultrasound. The programme culminates in a cadaver surgery practical followed by six mentored shifts in clinic.

Kick-start your Vets Now career and get paid from day one

We’ll cover your accommodation costs whilst you are on the programme and even pay you to take part – you’ll be a Vets Now employee from day one of the course. The next intake of AdvantEdge is on 20th May 2019, however, there is the option of starting employment prior to the programme commencing. Regardless if you’re looking for full time or part time work, AdvantEdge is the perfect way to kick-start a successful career with Vets Now.

Company

Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from 55 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and three 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 100,000 small animals every year — and during seasonal holidays, like Christmas and Easter, our highly-skilled staff answer around five queries an hour from worried pet owners. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.

We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our three hospitals — in Glasgow, Manchester and Swindon — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
