Emergency Doctors and General Practice Veterinarians

CityU PAVC has provided excellent veterinary care to the pets of Hong Kong for many years. Building on this tradition, referral options for the Hong Kong veterinary community have been improving steadily. We continue to offer a comprehensive level of specialist referral options for Hong Kong veterinarians.

Specialist services currently include: Surgery, Neurology, Cardiology, Anaesthesia, Dermatology, Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, and Ophthalmology.

Our general practice and emergency services also continue to grow as we diverge the specialist and general practice arms of CityU PAVC. The renovation of our new 33,000 square foot premises nearby is nearing completion, and we need new vets to help be part of the next chapter in Hong Kong veterinary development.

Our general practice runs independently of the specialist referral cases, and we strive to keep these areas separate.  Our GP and emergency vets however, continue to enjoy the resources of a modern and well-equipped practice, with very high level imaging services and surgical facilities in Hong Kong.  As well, they have access to the resources and advice of specialist vets, who can help when case management becomes more difficult.

Hong Kong is a great place to live with a vibrant atmosphere and quality of life.  Traditionally known as the gateway to China, Hong Kong is at times very Asian and yet very sophisticated and Western, all in the same day. We offer attractive packages for those willing to commit to working with us at our new and region-leading facility which will be in active service from April 2019.

If you are interested in taking your career to the next level, developing your skills and having access to amenities and resources to allow you to do so, then apply confidentially.

Company

We are very pleased to announce that CityU PAVC will be moving to a new location nearby in Sham Shui Po.  The new veterinary centre, which will be the largest in Asia, will be on Lai Chi Kok Road between Yen Chow Street and Kweilin Street, and is set to open during the first half of 2019.  The new office address is 339 Lai Chi Kok Road.  Our main telephone and facsimile numbers will remain unchanged.

The centre will be known as CityU Animal Health Centre, patient records and staff from CityU PAVC will be transferred to this new venue. The continued development of the practice, and the growing range of services that we provide have meant increasing the size of the practice to accommodate these changes. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this move, but once you see the new practice you will no doubt appreciate why we have chosen to move.

Enhanced Facilities Serve Every Need

As always, we will aim to maintain and re-set the highest standards of the Hong Kong veterinary community, by integrating teams of high calibre veterinary professionals with global training and experience, with state-of-the-art facilities.

The new centre is more spacious, with state-of-the-art design, offering a more comfortable environment for clients and animals.  It consists of 3 floors with a total area of about 33,000 square feet.  There are 7 dedicated operating theaters, a first-of-a-kind for Hong Kong dedicated intensive care unit (ICU), a cardiology suite and a separate 24/7 access emergency service.

The new centre is only a short distance from the current site, and is easily accessible by taxi or car.  There are adequate parking spaces in the parking garage below, and on-street parking is usually available.

Going the Extra Mile in Veterinary Care

Operating since 1984, CityU PAVC offers comprehensive veterinary services for small animals in Hong Kong.  We are a full-service veterinary practice providing both primary and specialist veterinary services, as well as providing on-site veterinary emergency care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Providing the highest quality care for our patients is the key element of our clinic.  We will continue to maintain high quality clinical care for patients with the latest diagnostic and treatment options for disease management.

Our veterinary team consists of general practitioners and specialists, and we have the largest team of specialists covering 8 different specialties including surgery, anesthesiology, neurology, dermatology, cardiology, ophthalmology, intensive care and internal medicine.

Alternative treatment methods such as acupuncture will also be available.

We look forward to your continued support for years to come, and hope that you appreciate this evolution of veterinary care aimed at improving the service that clients and animals receive.

Introduction

CityU PAVC (PAVC) was founded by Dr. Phillip Mak in June 1984, with the dream of providing high quality veterinary services to pets in Hong Kong. At the time, Hong Kong's veterinary industry was in it's infancy, and Dr. Phillip Mak became the first veterinarian native to Hong Kong, to open a private practice. By capitalizing on multiple opportunities, the practice grew rapidly over time and eventually expanded to its current 18,000 square foot facility on Liberty Avenue.

PAVC is the designated training clinic for Taiwan Chung Hsing University graduates who want to register in Hong Kong.

We strive to raise the standards of Hong Kong's veterinary community to the highest level by integrating teams of globally experienced, high caliber veterinary professionals with state-of-the-art facilities.
