Job Details

Pride Veterinary Centre is one of the most advanced small animal hospitals in Europe, built by Scarsdale Veterinary Group in partnership with Nottingham Vet School and is located in Derby. The building opened in 2011 and offers a state-of-the-art Veterinary Hospital, Modern Vets Practice and Luxury Pet Resort – all under one roof.

Scarsdale Veterinary Group are an independent practice.

Graduate vets are fully supported by all the Scarsdale teams. You will have interaction with the colleagues within our various departments at our Pride Veterinary Hospital plus other Scarsdale practices locally.

For successful applicants to the graduate vet scheme 2019 we provide a comprehensive support and training programme with a mentor for training and a buddy for individual support. Attending lectures with the XL Vets training scheme, you will have the benefit of regular contact with other graduates at independent practices across the country.

We understand that as a graduate you need time and support so your consults can last 20 minutes and you can develop your surgical skills with coaching but without the time pressures. You will also be able to regularly shadow our night team to progress your emergency and critical care skills.

Your training will include experiential learning to teach business skills in addition to clinical skills and set you up to succeed in your own practice if you choose, in the future. We have a dedicated Learning & Development Manager to assist with your development.

This graduate scheme is for 12 months and while we aim to employ all vets completing the scheme, business circumstances may not allow us to employ all graduates.
