Veterinary Surgeon - Crosby, Liverpool

Exciting opportunity at new independently-owned state of the art vet surgery!!

We’re looking for a confident, forward-thinking vet, keen to build their own client base, work up cases to the highest standard (excellent clinical support will be available if needed) and shape the direction of a new surgery.

The Practice
We are independently owned and run. Our new site has basically been an exercise in building a dream practice! State of the art facilities, great village location but easy access to beaches and to Liverpool City Centre. Separate cat and dog waiting, consult rooms and kennels. Well-lit theatres, large prep area. Bright and spacious throughout. Each room is individually climate-controlled. Dimmable lights and piped music in the kennel rooms to reduce stress. We think we’ve thought of almost everything but the most important things is the great bunch of people we work with!

Location
Brand new building in recently redeveloped village centre. Close to beaches and 15 minutes from Liverpool City Centre. Ample parking outside. We’re on the first floor but equipped with a lift for easy access.

The Role
The role will involve a fair amount of sole charge though I’ll be on site for much of the first 12 months while we get everything running smoothly so will be available for case discussion, assisting ops etc.
Based mainly at our new Crosby site which has been purpose built and opened just a couple of weeks ago. The premises are light and spacious, climate controlled and equipped to the highest standard with plenty of room to grow and develop any special interests.

We practice high quality first opinion work, we are very proactive and encourage regular preventative care and check ups. We work cases up thoroughly and have access to visiting specialist in soft tissue, orthopaedics, cardiology and diagnostic imaging when required. We encourage discussion of difficult cases and the whole team contribute to continuously improving our services and care through regular meetings.

Despite having an amazing work-family, we understand that our team have a life outside of work too and so we try to flexible with rotas and working patterns where we can.

OOH is covered by Vets Now and weekends are currently Saturday mornings only. We’re proud to be independent and have no plans to sell up having just built our ideal practice!

We have a flexible CPD budget and will support relevant special interests.
Successful Candidate We are looking for an experienced, confident vet who is keen to establish their own base of devoted clients and take responsibility for their own case load. You’ll be friendly and approachable, happy to take time with clients explaining things and answering any queries, confident enough to work on your own when required but equally happy to work as a team.

We can offer a wealth of experienced support from our main branch when required and the boss will be on hand at Crosby most days.

The Package
Excellent package for the right candidate. £35-50K+ depending on experience, RCVS and VDS subscriptions paid.
Flexible CPD budget to allow development of special interests.
Rota can also be flexible but usually based around 4 day week with alternate Saturday mornings.
