Build your Emergency and Critical Care career around your lifestyle
Vets Now Hemel Hempstead is looking for a Vet to provide additional support at a time when it’s needed most. Whether you are balancing a busy lifestyle, raising a family, studying, looking to earn extra income or simply missing the thrill of emergency cases, weekend working could be perfect for you.
A work life a little more extraordinary
We’re looking for a Vet to work a mix of weekend day and night shifts over the course of a month but will consider those looking for one shift only. If you would like to boost your income further we can look at the possibility of adding in some weekday night shifts to compliment the weekends. Regardless of the amount of contracted hours, we will provide a regular and stable income alongside a full package of benefits.
Earn extra cash and reap the benefits
Recognising hard work is really important to us. Our employees are our greatest asset which is why we offer a first class benefits and rewards package that could include the following:
- comprehensive CPD allowance
- 6.6 weeks annual leave
- private medical insurance
- pension contributions
- professional membership
- free holiday accommodation in Arran
- 50% discounted staff pet care
- death in service of two times annual salary
- membership of employee wellbeing programme
- company sick pay scheme
- company maternity, paternity and adoption pay scheme
- your birthday as a day off
Develop your skills with a diverse caseload
With such a diverse caseload, emergency Vets will be continually challenged medically and surgically. You will be supported and mentored in clinic by your Senior Vet and will have the opportunity to advance your career through development or studying towards a certificate if you chose to do so.
Company
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from 55 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and three 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 100,000 small animals every year — and during seasonal holidays, like Christmas and Easter, our highly-skilled staff answer around five queries an hour from worried pet owners. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our three hospitals — in Glasgow, Manchester and Swindon — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
