Wear Referrals (part of the Linnaeus Group) is an established multi-disciplinary referral practice based in an award winning, purpose-built veterinary hospital in the North East of England. We are dedicated to delivering clinical excellence with outstanding patient care.

We are currently looking for Interns (rotating internship) for a 12-month fixed term contract. The ideal candidate should be dedicated, with excellent communication skills and hold a veterinary degree registerable with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

The internship will include all referral disciplines, as well as rehabilitation, emergency & critical care and OOHs. This will give interns the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge in all aspects of small animal medicine.

Welcome to Wear Referrals, a veterinary referral service for the North of England, based in our brand new State-of-the-Art veterinary referral and emergency hospital. Being conveniently located 300 yards off Junction 60 on the A1 (which is the Sedgefield turnoff) allows rapid and easy access for all referred clients and emergencies.

We can accept referrals in the following disciplines; orthopaedics, spinal surgery, soft tissue surgery and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Our facilities include 1.5T MRI (human MRI scanner), 16-slice CT scanner, fluoroscopy, a chemotherapy ward, a lecture theatre, a rehabilitation ward and a dedicated intensive care unit. The new hospital allows us to further expand our referral services and thus provide a better service to referring vets and pet owners. Our aim is that it will become a Centre of Excellence both clinically and educationally.

Excellent communication with clients and referring veterinary surgeons, a high standard of expertise and patient care are our goals. We constantly invest in training and new equipment, which enables us to give our client’s pets the best possible treatment.
