Job Details

Are you a keen Small Animal Vet, who also enjoys the variety of doing some large animal work?

Our client is one of the longest-established practices in the North East with eight practices, consisting of 7 branch practices and one hospital which is soon set to achieve RCVS hospital accreditation. There are opportunities for Vets with 1-2 years' experience to work in one of the larger branches with an experienced team, and opportunities for more experienced vets to take on more responsibility in a sole-charge branch.

The mix of work is mainly small animal with 20-25% large animal, and this tends more to be equine work than farm. However, if you have a particular interest in equine or farm work, you will be given the opportunity to get more involved with this area of the business.

If you are a hard-worker, keen to be in a busy independent practice then this is the role for you. The role is full time over 5 days per week, 1.25 weekends in 6 and 1 night per week on call. If you are a less experienced Vet, you will always be on-call with one of the experienced members of the team so you have the support to be able to deal confidently with the emergency cases.

In recognition of the hard-work you will do, you will have 8 weeks per year annual leave and a competitive salary which is supplemented by accommodation allowance, car allowance, bupa healthcare and your VDS cover and RCVS fees will be paid. You will progress quickly because of the caseload of work you will see as well as the support from senior members of the team and generous CPD training.
