What is the role?
Blue Cross is a 24-hour charity hospital providing veterinary treatment for animals belonging to those people whose financial circumstances do not allow them to afford private veterinary fees. The Victoria hospital sees a high caseload of emergency and critical care cases surgical and medical so it is desirable that candidates have out of hours/sole charge experience. A postgraduate qualification in ECC or interest in emergency medicine would be advantageous.
You will have a caring attitude to animals and owners and will be able to communicate well with colleagues and clients, with a natural affinity for all aspects of practical animal care and the ability to work in a team. In addition to dealing with emergency and routine clinical and surgical work as directed by the Chief Veterinary Surgeon, you will be flexible and dynamic to fit in with the night team duties on the rota.
