Veterinary Surgeon - Hampshire

SA vet required with proven surgical abilities to join our friendly 5 vet team

The Practice
We are a Tier 3 small animal veterinary hospital, purpose built and well equipped.  We have a knowledgeable and motivated clientele who we strive to retain by providing an excellent service for them.   We are owned and supported by the Linnaeus Group.

Location
Basingstoke is pleasantly rural, but in easy reach of both the M and M4.   The successful candidate will be expected to live within a 20 minute commute to the practice.

The Role
You will be required to work 4 days per week on rota, plus 1 in 5 weekends.  You will have 24hr responsibility for inpatients whilst on call, but our OOH is handled by Vets Now.  Under the Tier 3 requirements a nurse is available at the practice OOH and will assist the Vet Surgeon with inpatient care.

Successful Candidate
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed SA Vet who can work as part of a team, but have the confidence to work independently when the need arises.  A competent surgeon with a desire to tackle the more challenging operations, including orthopaedics.

The Package
Our basic salary will depend on experience, for an experienced SA Vet we would expect total earnings to be in excess of £55k. Generous discretionary bonus scheme based on the turnover of the practice.  There is an allowance for CPD and extra training budget can often be additionally agreed i.e. for a certificate or in-depth CPD.
