SA Veterinary Surgeon - Leicestershire

SA vet required in mixed Leicestershire practice, to work in friendly and supportive environment.

The Practice

Location
Broughton Veterinary Group has two surgeries (Broughton Astley, and Lutterworth) in rural Leicestershire.  We are handy for the city of Leicester, and near the M1/M69 motorway links, (and Fosse Park shopping centre) whilst also providing easy access to a variety of local towns, leisure centres and sporting facilities; the home of Leicester City Football and Leicester Tigers Rugby clubs; the Leicester cultural centre, including Curve Theatre, Showcase and Phoenix cinemas, and a variety of restaurants and night clubs and Leicestershire and nearby Derbyshire countryside for many outdoor activities.

The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a small animal vet within our mixed vet practice. In the unique position of being our only dedicated small animal vet you will have the opportunity to offer a professional but caring service to our loyal client base; provide continuity and support to your colleagues; and generally help drive the small animal side of the practice forward. We provide our vets with the opportunity to work up your own cases, develop your particular interests. We are proud to provide our own OOH service, on a 1 in 5 rota, with the back-up of a second vet on call, for general help or advice if needed, and to take the farm calls when a SA-only vet is on call.  We have a highly valued client base, providing a varied caseload.  We offer a mix of appointments and open surgery (10 min consults), over two locations, Monday to Friday, plus Saturday morning consults; rotas for consults, surgery, etc.

Successful Candidate
We require an enthusiastic and caring person to join our 8 vet team. We want you to be friendly and approachable, whilst providing a professional service.  Previous experience of working in the UK is preferred.

The Package
The package includes 33 days holiday per year based on a 4 ½ day week and 1 day off after a weekend on call; 5 days funded CPD per year; a practice house and car available if required; RCVS fees.
