The Practice
Independent and proud of it! Friendly, local, rural practice in the heart of the community.  Close knit hardworking supportive team ‘The Dalehead Family’. Large team of experienced qualified nurses – including 2018 Pet Plan Awards Nurse of the Year winner! The progression opportunities within the freedom of independent practice should not be under estimated.

Vibrant market town in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, great for walking, climbing, cycling yet within a few minutes of everyday amenities and fantastic pubs! Great schools and lots of local events and community groups to get involved in. On the doorstep on The Lake District with easy links to motorways, and great transport links to Leeds, Manchester etc. Settle is the place to ‘settle’!

The Roledalehead waiting
Dedicated small animal role within a mixed / small animal practice. Plenty of scope to work up own cases with clinical freedom and to develop skills both on-site and through fully supported and funded CPD – certificates encouraged. This role is better suited to a candidate with some experience, although a confident proactive new graduate would also be considered.

Finding an individual who would be the right fit for our team, is clinically competent and confident and has the potential to excel in the role is our highest priority. As an independent practice we have the resources and autonomy to provide a bespoke position tailored to the right candidate. As such hours and salary would be for discussion on application/interview.

We can provide clinical freedom, supported by a structure of in-house protocols written by OUR vets. Our aim is to provide gold standard service to all our patients. Clinical continuity is vital, with our vets being encouraged to build up their own client base and work up their own cases. This role is a real opportunity for a proactive individual to build a career to reflect their clinical strengths and interests, and to be a driver in the progression of the department and practice.

dalehead showsWe offer a great work/life balance as the latest of our evening surgery would finish is 6.30pm. Being in such a beautiful part of The Dales, this allows plenty of time to enjoy your evenings and weekends out in the stunning landscape, pursue hobbies and become part of the wider community.

Successful Candidate
Caring, professional with great people skills. We are looking for a colleague who can fit in and work well with our team, and who also has that spark and innovation to maximise and ‘own’ their role. We would hope for someone looking to settle into the role, put down some roots, and play an integral part in the development and future of the practice.

The Package
Funded CPD, RCVS, VDS, staff discount scheme, contractual sickness/injury scheme, pension scheme.
