Oncology Intern - Guildford

Fitzpatrick Referrals Oncology and Soft Tissue hospital is looking for a second oncology intern for a 12-month position working under the supervision and guidance of Drs. Iain Grant DipACVIM (medical oncology) and Michael MacFarlane DipECVIM (medical oncology) supported by a team of other specialists (including Diplomates of ACVS / ECVS / ECVIM / ECVDI).

We are a state-of-the-art, purpose-built hospital dedicated to expert care, innovative decision-making and compassionate communication, with particular emphasis on the cancer patient. Facilities include a 160-slice CT scanner, interventional radiology, dedicated chemotherapy preparation and administration rooms, and four surgical theatres.

We will offer training in all aspects of medical oncology including experience of advanced surgical and interventional oncologic procedures. You will also be included in the out-of-hours rota. Active involvement with clinical research is encouraged, leading towards a peer-reviewed publication. The successful candidate must be a graduated veterinary surgeon and preferably have completed a one-year rotating internship or at least two years of general small animal practice. The post is ideally suited for candidates considering residency training in oncology.
