Clinical Director/Senior Vet - Essex

We are a well established, independently owned group of three veterinary practices located in mid Essex (Dunmow, Braintree & Maldon), currently looking to appoint a new Senior Vet/Clinical Director to join our 100% small animal business.

Our team are highly motivated to fulfil our core values of providing excellent client and patient care - animal welfare and clinical excellence are our priorities. We are well equipped with in house laboratory, digital radiography, ultrasound, and maintain separate cat and dog wards. We have Cat Friendly and Rabbit Friendly accreditation and two of the sites are registered as nurse training centres (Maldon & Braintree).

The ideal candidate will have a progressive diagnostic mind-set to work up cases logically and thoroughly. They will also be competent with all routine/intermediate soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery. A keen interest in a particular area of specialism (advanced surgery, medicine, ophthalmology, exotics etc) would be valued, and promoted through external training courses.

Primarily they will lead a clinical team and deliver high standards of care to animals and clients alike. It is important that they hold themselves and others accountable to these standards.

There is the opportunity to develop your management skills including facilitating team co-ordination, mentoring of staff, leading team meetings, marketing and an awareness of local financial and budget responsibilities.

Support and training in these areas is always on hand from the wider team.

The ideal candidate could be track proven but we would also invite applications from well-rounded clinicians who are looking to further advance their career.
