Company

Dalblair Veterinary Surgery was originally established in 1908 and was situated in Smith Street in Ayr. This close proximity to the railway station was helpful as a lot of the early veterinary work involved the treatment of the draught horses owned by the railway company.

The move to Dalblair road was made in 1982 as although still a mixed practice covering farm, equine and small animal work, the small animal side of the business was increasing and the new premises afforded more space both inside and also outside for parking.

Further extensive expansion and renovations were made in 2000 with the purchase of adjacent ground and property and the demolition and total rebuild of a purpose designed small animal facility. As the small animal side of the business continued to flourish, in 2012 the decision was taken to become an exclusively small animal practice. This decision has allowed us to provide the best possible service for our small animal clients by focusing our skills and expertise on the ever increasing specialization and treatment options that are now available for our companion animals.
