Job Details

Pride Veterinary Centre offers a range of state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. Our diagnostics and treatment are second to none and we have many highly trained and experienced nurses to ensure that our patients receive the very best treatment.

We offer both primary care and a specialist-led referral service in a range of disciplines, and due to an increasing caseload, we are able to offer exciting nursing opportunities. Each role is interesting and varied, and should you wish to work in our hospital, referral experience is not essential as we welcome the opportunity to provide training for the perfect candidates. What we do ask for is enthusiasm, an excellent work ethic, team spirit and a passion for clinical excellence.

The ophthalmology team is a friendly dynamic team that comprises a nurse, an intern and two specialist ophthalmologists who see a large range of medical and surgical cases. The team is dedicated to outstanding patient care and are happy to teach and help others.

As well as working within the ophthalmology team you will be working with the theatre and in-patient care teams in our busy referral hospital as well as the wider team at the practice. There are lots of opportunities to work alongside a team of dedicated veterinary professionals.

The role requires an individual who is organised and able to work and communicate effectively with a range of people as well as being clinically focused.

The successful candidate will organise the ophthalmology department and team members throughout the day and liaise with other areas as required (theatre, wards, imaging).

Client care is a large part of the role, from providing updates, to admissions to giving advice. We aim to offer outstanding care to both our patients and their owners and great communication is essential for this and highly valued by the owners.

There will be opportunities to assist the ophthalmologists with surgical and non-surgical procedures, and time to provide one to one care to our very important and loveable patients.
