Job Details

Our innovative AdvantEdge programme will fast track you into a successful full or part-time Vet Surgeon role in emergency and critical care.

Ready for a work life less ordinary?

It takes a certain calibre of Vet Surgeon to thrive in the challenging world of emergency and critical care. Our Vets are exposed to cases you simply won’t see in day practice. However, with unpredictability comes opportunity – a diverse caseload within a supportive environment is perfect for learning. At Vets Now we care about the development of our people and that’s why we have introduced AdvantEdge, a two week residential programme for experienced Vets.

Get the AdvantEdge and stand out from the crowd

Designed by Amanda Boag, Vets Now Clinical Director, AdvantEdge contains over 75 hours of ECC CPD delivered via lectures and practicals by Diplomates in ECC, Internal Medicine and Surgery at our headquarters in Dunfermline. Following on from the two week CPD programme, you’ll undertake six mentored shifts in-clinic by an experienced emergency clinician. Vets Now will cover your accommodation costs while you are on the programme and we’ll even pay you to take part. The next intake is on 20th May 2019. With the support and mentoring our Senior Vets provide, there is the option of starting in clinic before the programme runs. AdvantEdge is the perfect way to kick-start a successful full or part time career with Vets Now.

What's in it for you?

Our employees are our greatest asset which is why we offer a first class benefits and reward package, as well as continued development. We’ll even support you to complete the ECC Cert.

Company

Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from 55 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and three 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 100,000 small animals every year — and during seasonal holidays, like Christmas and Easter, our highly-skilled staff answer around five queries an hour from worried pet owners. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.

We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our three hospitals — in Glasgow, Manchester and Swindon — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
