Be a clinician and mentor with Vets Now Canterbury

A Clinical Lead with Vets Now will lead by example and ensure our high clinical and service standards, culture and values are fully embedded and promoted at all times. A strong emergency clinician who takes a real pride in mentoring and coaching others would be an ideal fit for this opportunity.

Be at the forefront of clinical excellence

We support our Vet Surgeons in pursuing a particular interest of choice and offer exceptional mentoring programmes. We make a real impact on the wider profession by driving clinical research and, by joining the Vets Now family, you will be at the forefront of clinical excellence.

Out of hours doesn’t necessarily mean out of reach

The Canterbury clinic is staffed with a supportive team of Vets and Nurses and features state of the art equipment. The wider network of emergency clinics and specialty hospitals work in collaboration to ensure that we can offer the best emergency and critical care in the country. Whether it’s sharing best practice or seeking advice on a particularly complex case, you will never be alone at Vets Now.

Great place to work

Recognising hard work is really important to us. Our employees are our greatest asset which is why we offer a first class benefits and rewards package that could include 6.6 weeks annual leave, private medical insurance, comprehensive CPD allowance, pension contributions, professional membership, free holiday accommodation in Arran, 50% discounted staff pet care, death in service of two times annual salary, membership of employee wellbeing programme, company sick pay scheme, company maternity, paternity and adoption pay scheme and your birthday as a day off.

Celebrating success

As well as providing a competitive package of rewards and benefits, we also take pride in celebrating our successes. This includes hosting an annual awards ceremony for those who have exceeded expectations. Clinical staff are also encouraged to attend our annual ECC Congress, the largest in the UK, which features an array of internationally accredited speakers, delegates and exhibitors.

On-going development

At Vets Now, we are passionate about training and the on-going development of our employees. If this vacancy is of interest and you feel you would benefit from a supported route in to our business, then AdvantEdge may be perfect for you. This is a two week programme for experienced, talented Vets that will fast track them into a successful emergency role.

This role would suit an experienced Vet Surgeon looking to take their first steps into a leadership role due to the dedicated support available.

Company

Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from 55 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and three 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 100,000 small animals every year — and during seasonal holidays, like Christmas and Easter, our highly-skilled staff answer around five queries an hour from worried pet owners. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.

We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our three hospitals — in Glasgow, Manchester and Swindon — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
