Veterinary Surgeon - Brighton

Experienced, full time veterinary surgeon required to assist current veterinary surgeon with all aspects of a busy, independent, small animal practice to include consultations and surgery.  Working on a rota system, with every other Saturday morning and no OOH.

The Practice
St Francis is an independent practice surgery in the centre of Brighton. Very busy, great atmosphere, interesting and varied, loyal clients.  Everyday a new experience.  A great job for the right candidate.

The Role
Working within a friendly team of 1 other veterinary surgeon, 3 RVNs, 2 SVNs and an ANA, we require a highly experienced vet to cope with a heavy caseload of both medical and surgical cases, with extremely busy consultations and an average of five surgical procedures per day, to include a brand new dental unit and digital x-raying. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of small rodent surgery.

The position will also require the vet to provide a supportive role for the current vet, whilst also supporting the practice and other staff members to continue working at a high standard of care and helping to evaluate techniques to adapt and improve current schemes of work.  

The position will also require regular input in dealing with client queries and emails of a veterinary nature, prescribing repeat medications and conveying laboratory results. The ideal candidate will also hold a certificate to issue passports.
