Veterinary Surgeon - Westerham, Kent
We are a 4-man, 2-centre friendly practice. Both surgeries are fully equipped and air conditioned. The Westerham one was set up 5 years ago in an old cornstore, but the internal structure was replaced at that time. We aim to provide excellent client care along with a high standard of medical and surgical practice. Our fees are reasonable and patient care is more important than profit! We provide services to a number of local charities so there is quite a lot of routine surgical procedures carried out.
The role is mainly at our Westerham Surgery. The rota will give one full day or one half day off a week and will involve working at least one-in-three Saturday mornings. There are no on call duties. Mornings are the busiest time and depending on the day there will be consults until 11, then operating, or just operating. Although a busy surgery, the atmosphere is relaxed as it is important to enjoy coming to work!
There will be at least one day a week when the successful candidate will need to go to Thornton Heath.
We need someone with at least 1 years UK experience in small animal practice. Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English are essential. The candidate will need to be flexible and deal with some rescue organisations that will want procedures done without much warning! There is quite a lot of surgery involved, but support will be given with any procedure the applicant is not confident with, and given the volume of work, your surgical skills will improve with time.
- £35,000 - £48,000 depending on experience
- 4 weeks holiday plus bank holidays
- £1,500 CPD allowance.
