Senior Veterinary Surgeon – Small Animal

DESCRIPTION
Avonvale Veterinary Centres are currently looking for a senior veterinary surgeon – small animal to support in their Southam surgery on a full-time, maternity (fixed term) contract for 12 months.
 
The successful candidate will hold a Veterinary Medicine degree, have a minimum of three year’s postgraduate experience and is RCVS qualified.

Reporting to the clinical director, the successful candidate will provide ongoing support in the running of the practice. Efficient running of the practice is key and ensuring that all communication and clinical protocols are delivered and maintained.

Education
Essential

• Holder of a Veterinary Medicine degree.
• RCVS qualified.

Knowledge and Experience
Essential

• Minimum 3 years’ postgraduate clinical experience
• Will maintain a consistent high quality of work
• Needs to have sound awareness of when a second opinion or referral is required either in-house or external
• Able to demonstrate reliability in performing tasks accurately within the allotted timescales
• Will demonstrate the ability and interest to suggest and develop new sound ideas and methods

Desirable

• 1 – 3 years proven experience in a small animal practice in UK
• Team management
• ILM 5
• Familiarity with Windows applications: Word, Excel
• Familiarity with email and web-based communication
