Night Vet – West Yorkshire

My client in the West Yorkshire region is recruiting for an experienced night vet to join their busy team on a 7 on, 14 off basis.

If working OOH appeals, we have a very exciting opportunity for you to join a hugely successful progressive practice in West Yorkshire who provide an extended 24/7 service which includes OOH emergency care and hospitalisation to patients from multiple practices in the region. Unlike some veterinary OOH positions, the practice is active throughout the night, offering an interesting case load, consults up to 10pm and standard ops during the small hours.

You would be working alongside a team of 5 full time vets (and 3 night vets), the practice performs a variety of surgeries - orthopaedic including TTA, patella, fracture repairs and challenging soft surgery tissue, cardiology and imaging with around 60% insured clients, with the support of 12 nurses , 2 student nurses and 2 VCA’s. The clinic is fully equipped with the current vets "favourite toys" including endoscopy, digital x-ray, ultrasound, IM3 dental machine, IM3 dental x-ray, Idexx lasercyte and catalyst DX, ECG and orthopaedic surgical kit including Orthomed MMP TTA.

The shift pattern comprises of one-week night rota (Monday to Sunday), followed by two weeks off. Annual leave is worked into the salary package, and is expected to be taken within your windows of two weeks off. This ensures continuity of three, full-time night vets working in rotation at the practice providing gold-standard, quality care to clients throughout the year. Each night shift you would be working with one of our 2 experienced, permanent night RVN’s (one who has completed, and one who is presently studying the VN ECC Certificate).
