Job Details
I have a client based in Edinburgh currently seeking a Category Manager to work within their Marketing department, reporting to the Marketing Manager. The client is a large and well respected animal health company with global presence.
The role will involve the successful launch, marketing and management of key product ranges and services. The successful candidate will manage their portfolio in order to maximize product penetration, profitability and sales for the business while maintaining end to end responsibility for management of the assigned category. Other responsibilities will include:
- Monitor the market and report on market size and share and product opportunities
- Identify vendor and service partners and establishing relationships with them to optimize benefit to the business
- Assess competitor products including pricing and promotions, technical benefits and brand value
- Devise and implement product launch strategies including price, promotion and positioning
- Generate marketing communications including technical support material, product comparisons and customer collateral
- Demonstrate product features and benefits to internal and external stakeholders by attending sales meetings, customer call and trade shows
- Continuous monitoring and reporting on progress of previous product introductions
- Create and respond to business opportunities
- React to development within the marketplace promptly, using tactical marketing strategies
The successful candidate must have either a degree or relevant qualifications in a marketing subject and knowledge of the animal healthcare sector.
