Looking for a Predominantly 9-5pm or Part Time Role?

Join our experienced, welcoming team in our multi-disciplinary specialist referral hospital in Cheshire.

We have an exceptional, talented team of nurses supporting Northwest Veterinary Specialists in providing outstanding levels of patient and customer care. As this team continues to grow we want to ensure that we comprehensively educate, support and train our nurses in becoming leading veterinary care providers. This ethos has created an exciting opportunity and we are looking to recruit a Clinical Trainer to oversee the in house training schedules of our nursing team on either a full or part time permanent basis.

Located in modern, state of the art facilities, with exciting expansion plans for the future, our referral centre is an easy commute from historic Chester, Liverpool or Manchester. We’re also on the outskirts of picturesque Delamere Forest, with the largest area of woodland in the country, and within easy reach of Snowdonia and the Peak District, so have the best of both city living and rural life on our doorstep.

Our specialities cover anaesthesia and pain management; neurology and neurosurgery; cardiology; soft tissue surgery, oncology; internal medicine; diagnostic imaging; and, orthopaedics, and we work closely with other referral centres in our group to facilitate clinical research and access to shared expertise.

Working in close collaboration with the Head of Nursing and quality and governance teams this new role will be responsible for ensuring that industry leading training and guidance is provided to our highly qualified and experienced nursing colleagues. The successful candidate will coordinate and implement top class training programmes to ensure all colleagues have comprehensive support and clear career development and succession plans.

The position is predominantly 9-5pm (full time hours) but will require occasional shift work, including some night-work, which will be arranged to suit the needs of the business, with full prior consultation with the successful candidate.

In this rewarding role you will be expected to:

  • Review nursing standards within all departments
  • Monitor and track nurse training, highlighting any areas for improvement and working with relevant teams to implement training protocols
  • Work closely with all nursing teams and provide onsite clinical support, training and education
  • Research relevant and up to date protocols in line with quality and governance and ensure that these are effectively communicated and implemented
  • Carry out individual colleague evaluations and sign off competencies
  • Inspire colleagues in striving for clinical excellence and foster interest in further education

As you would expect from a market leader in small animal care we offer a supportive and friendly working environment together with career development opportunities and an excellent package and benefits that include:

  • Competitive salary
  • Increased leave for long service and a day off for your Birthday
  • Pension scheme
  • Private medical insurance
  • Subsidised canteen (Lunch provided daily) and free parking
  • CPD allowance
  • Professional membership paid for
  • Colleague discounts (20% off the Pets at Home Group)

If you would like to join our happy, professional team and you share our passion for delivering outstanding nursing, then we would love to hear from you. We are always happy to discuss flexible and part time working options.
