Veterinary Surgeon – Dumfries, South West Scotland

We are looking for a small animal vet for our first opinion practice for all aspects of routine health care but also case work up involving medical and surgical cases.

The Practice
We are a well established, friendly, independent, five vet, small animal practice. The practice is well equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, ECG, a new dental unit this year, Idexx ‘suite’ etc. Work up is supported and encouraged with an interesting and varied case load. This allows us the chance to follow up our patients and clients through their care as well as routine health care. Support is provided whether you are a new graduate or more experienced and there is the opportunity for further progression if desired. We have completed previous PDP and are a VNTC, with many of our own nurses having completed their VN qualifications with us, so we have a good experience of mentoring and very friendly support staff. We provide our own OOH, which is usually relatively quiet, on  a one in five basis, with two days off in lieu for weekends on call. Specific support is supplied for this  and time to find your feet before starting this aspect of our work!
