Job Details

The Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital is the first opinion small animal teaching hospital for the Royal Veterinary College. Our clinic is patient focused, making animal welfare a top priority. We hold the gold standard accreditation for cat friendly practice from the ISFM and promote low stress handling for all patients. Our progressive attitude towards veterinary care and the role of the veterinary nurse means we offer high standards of first opinion services and nurse led inpatient care.

Located within walking distance of Camden, Euston and Kings Cross Stations, we have a spacious, modern Hospital, with separate species specific clinical facilities, offering routine and non-routine first opinion small animal procedures. We provide high quality veterinary care to the local community, as well as exotics referral services, with all team members receiving practical exotics training from our dedicated and experienced exotics team and our specialist Vets. We also run a shelter medicine teaching program with our partners at the RSPCA and WGAS, in support of our objectives for clinical service, teaching, and research.

We require a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our first opinion team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to advance your nursing techniques across all areas of first opinion practice and to develop your coaching skills, while providing positive and proactive support to vet and vet nurse students in a supportive learning environment. No formal teaching qualification is required, although clinical coaching experience is an advantage. The role will suit any nurses wishing to pursue further study in a supportive learning environment, with a desire to further improve industry standards through teaching and offers free access to RVC CPD.

The successful applicant will be passionate about providing a high level of client and patient care, sharing knowledge with colleagues and students and have strong clinical experience. Experience in working with exotic & small mammal patients or shelter medicine would be an advantage.

Regular in- house training is provided in conjunction with access to external CPD and we offer a generous reward package.

If you are enthusiastic, motivated and want to provide high quality clinical care this is the job for you.

Company

It has been over two hundred years since our doors first opened in central London and over fifty years since we developed a presence in rural Hertfordshire.

Since that time we have grown to become the UK’s largest and only specialist veterinary institution, offering an exceptional environment for developing commitment and talent among both staff and students.

We focus on educating the brightest and best students in the veterinary sciences as well as providing support for the veterinary profession.  The College appeared in the popular Channel 4 series 'Inside Natures Giants' and Our Queen Mother Hospital for Animals featured in the critically acclaimed BBC Series Super Vets, which demonstrates how passionate we are about improving the health and welfare of animals.

RVC staff play a key role in ensuring that we maintain our position as one of the leaders in our field; through supporting our academic and research community and maintaining high levels of service within our hospitals, teaching facilities and across the Estate.

Whether you are seeking a new career challenge or a job that really makes a difference, it’s worth taking a closer look at the RVC. A passion for being the best you can be is something we are most definitely looking for.
