In this exciting role of Director of Commercial Services, you will lead and provide direction on all the commercial activities within a School which is internationally accredited and in the 2016 National Student Survey was voted number 1 in the UK for Veterinary Science.

Reporting to the Head of School, you will hold a leadership role and be a full member of the School Executive. With significant income flows, there will also be a reporting line to the University’s Director of Finance and the College Head of Finance. You will support the Heads of Division in maximising the contributions of staff engaged in clinical activity and will be a member of the Clinical Service Management Board.

You will provide strategic direction, leadership and management in the development of all clinical and diagnostic services whilst cultivating a culture of high employee engagement, through visible leadership and clear direction, during a period of wider transformation within the University. You will be responsible for effective governance in directing high quality clinical and diagnostic services which provide an excellent standard of animal care, a high quality teaching environment and enhancing the national and international reputation of the facilities.

You will either be a veterinary surgeon with a degree registrable with the RCVS or a qualification in business administration and experience in commercial management. With expertise in field you will have the ability to provide expert advice to professional practitioners, scientists and organisations. You will possess experience in directing and managing veterinary clinic(s) or clinical service provisions with turnover in excess of £1m p.a.

As a leader of significant multidisciplinary commercial and clinical services, you will have demonstrable strategic planning and influencing skills, coupled with the persistence and drive to successfully implement change.
