Veterinary Surgeon – Part time
Camden/ Kings Cross, North London
c.£33.7k - £43.2k per annum pro rata including London Weighting
The Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital is the first opinion small animal teaching hospital for the Royal Veterinary College. Located within walking distance of Camden, Euston and Kings Cross Stations. We provide high quality veterinary care to the local community, including a specialist exotic species referral service, in support of our objectives for clinical service, teaching, and research.
We have an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable clinician to join our dedicated team at the Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital. You will be working in the newly refurbished First Opinion Hospital of the RVC, providing excellent customer service led primary care services through skilled diagnostics and surgery, a logical problem solving approach to consultations and a compassionate and caring service.
As a teaching hospital, excellent communication skills and the ability to provide and receive feedback are essential, as is a strong focus on client service. You will be demonstrating a high standard of first opinion practice to final year vet students during their two week rotation learning “first day skills”.
An interest in dermatology or dentistry would be of benefit but is not essential. The successful applicant will be expected to enrol and complete a designated certificate in advanced veterinary practice, with the support of colleagues and management.
We offer a balanced rota working Monday – Thursday and 1 Saturday in 3 and a generous reward package including 6 weeks annual leave pro rata, plus paid CPD days alongside personal development plans.

Company
It has been over two hundred years since our doors first opened in central London and over fifty years since we developed a presence in rural Hertfordshire.
Since that time we have grown to become the UK’s largest and only specialist veterinary institution, offering an exceptional environment for developing commitment and talent among both staff and students.
We focus on educating the brightest and best students in the veterinary sciences as well as providing support for the veterinary profession. The College appeared in the popular Channel 4 series 'Inside Natures Giants' and Our Queen Mother Hospital for Animals featured in the critically acclaimed BBC Series Super Vets, which demonstrates how passionate we are about improving the health and welfare of animals.
RVC staff play a key role in ensuring that we maintain our position as one of the leaders in our field; through supporting our academic and research community and maintaining high levels of service within our hospitals, teaching facilities and across the Estate.
Whether you are seeking a new career challenge or a job that really makes a difference, it’s worth taking a closer look at the RVC. A passion for being the best you can be is something we are most definitely looking for.
