The Practice
We work with a delightful team of vets, nurses and support staff in purpose built premises on the beautiful southern fringe of the Lake District National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). The area and this job is ideal for those who love spending time in the great outdoors, and/or those who want to live in a rural location whilst maintaining excellent working conditions and clinical standards. There are first class schools in easy reach of the practice, particularly of note are the two state funded Lancaster Grammar Schools and the excellent independent Sedbergh School.

The practice benefits from on site CT, regular high field MRI access, digital radiography, and Stryker digital arthroscopy. We have an abundance of equipment available including Biomedtrix THR including Universal hip, Micro and Nano, six sizes of ASIF, TPLO, Synthes LCPs SOP plates, linear and circular external fixation etc.

The Role
We are seeking a fourth orthopaedic surgeon to help us provide an excellent referral service. At this time, orthopaedics and spinal surgery forms the core of the practice caseload, however the soft tissue service is developing. The applicant would be working alongside two full time RCVS Recognised Specialists (one RCVS diplomate and one ECVS diplomate). Relevant CPD is actively encouraged and funded.

Successful Candidate
The ideal candidate will hold, or be eligible to sit a relevant RCVS, ECVS or ACVS diploma and would be capable of managing complex and routine orthopaedic and spinal cases. Serious consideration will also be given to none boarded surgeons who wish to develop their skills and share our aim to provide clients with an excellent referral service. The ability to work within our team and to communicate effectively with clients and our referring clinicians is a priority. Support with clinical cases is readily available if required.

The Package
An excellent salary package is available that is commensurate with experience and level of qualifications. Company pension.

Kentdale Veterinary Orthopaedics offers specialist small animal orthopaedic and spinal referral service to clients of veterinary practices in the north west of England and south Scotland.

We aim to provide your pet with an accurate diagnosis and first class treatment to optimise the recovery process. 

We are very proud that both of our surgeons are all on the list of Recognised Specialists published by the RCVS. We are the only practice in Cumbria and Lancashire able to offer this and the only practice in Cumbria and Lancashire to be able to offer on site CT scanning.

Kentdale is a family business that is owned and run by Simon and Louise Roch, we currently consist of a team of three Veterinary Surgeons and six Registered Veterinary Nurses in addition to our other support staff. 

We currently see around  newly referred cases per year and have seen over 3500 cases since the business was started in February 2008. All of the cases have been referred by other veterinary practices who trust us to treat their clients animals. We are frequently asked to assess and treat dogs and cats belonging to vets themselves.
