Job Details

Do you have experience of canine hydrotherapy and physiotherapy? Are you well organised and an excellent communicator, with a genuine passion for dog welfare?

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres and charity shops. Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for over 15,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.

We are now recruiting for a qualified physiotherapist and hydrotherapist to manage the cases we see at our Basildon Rehoming Centre. The hydrotherapy unit (water treadmill) has a dual purpose; to manage clinical conditions from a therapeutic perspective and to serve as environmental enrichment for longer term dog residents. Cases will be referred by the centre Veterinary Surgeon, in conjunction with our centre behaviour team.

To be successful in this role you will be an enthusiastic person with excellent interpersonal and team skills and the ability to interact effectively both with the public and your colleagues. You should be motivated by the aims and objectives of Dogs Trust, and will have appropriate qualifications and experience of canine physiotherapy and hydrotherapy.

Travel to other Dogs Trust Rehoming Centres may be required in this role, so a full manual driving licence is a must.

To apply for this position please click the APPLY NOW button.

Our application process requires you to submit a CV and cover letter explaining your interest and suitability for the role.

Company

Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity and normally cares for around 14,000 dogs across its network of 21 rehoming centres in the UK and one in Dublin. Dogs Trust has a non-destruction policy and will never put a healthy dog to sleep.

The charity also focuses its efforts on understanding dogs and sharing that knowledge with the wider public to prevent problem behaviours that can result in relinquishment or abandonment.

We are working towards the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary destruction.
