Salary dependent on qualifications - in region of £45-£60K pa for 5 day week or pro rata

The Practice
Independent, personally run, 100% small animal practice in and around Aberdeen. 6 branches, 3 are RCVS GP practices and 3 are core practices (consulting only). Two nurse training centres. Digital x-ray processing, dental x-ray machine, endoscope, arthroscope, Doppler ultrasound, comprehensive in-house labs. Large support staff.

We have a mixture of experienced and newer graduates, some have been with the practice 20+ years. Weekly ophthalmology clinics and monthly dermatology clinics with Certificate holders. No on call, but we look after our own in-patients Monday – Friday so cover emergencies 6-7pm and check in-patients at 10pm on 1 in 8 basis. One Saturday in 4 with day off in lieu the following week. Normally 5 days per week but negotiable for pro rata salary.

The Role
Preferably a surgery certificate holder or studying for certificate, you will be able to deal with all routine surgeries plus more complex cases such as ear ablations and at least basic orthopaedics and willing to help less experienced colleagues develop their surgical skills. You will also do some consulting. If you are about to start a certificate we will support you.

Successful Candidate
You will be cheerful, friendly and a team player, keen to develop further in a chosen field. Concern about patient welfare and excellent customer service essential.

The Package
Benefits include 5 days paid time off for CPD if studying for certificate plus £1000 allowance, otherwise 3 days and £500 allowance.
VDS membership paid, contributory pension scheme, discounted treatment for own pets.
