Head Nurse - Hitchin
ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A UNIQUE CHALLENGING NEW ROLE IN NURSING?
We are looking for a Head Nurse to work in wards at Davies Veterinary Specialists. This is a rare opportunity to lead a nursing team within a large referral centre.
Davies is an established, yet growing and successful independent, referral practice. Founded over 20 years ago, we are recognised as a leader in our sector offering a diverse range of services to clients. Our independent status means we can maintain the culture and ethos that has sustained our success.
We have a large, highly experienced nursing team (over 60 nurses, and 18 Kennel Assistants) working in Theatres, Diagnostics and Wards. Following a review of our nursing team arrangement, we are now looking for a Head Nurse to lead the Wards nursing teams. With over 30 clinicians managing cases, and facilities to accommodate up to 50 in-patients across Surgery and Medicine Wards, the role will be challenging and rewarding professionally as both a nurse and manager.
You will still be carrying out hands-on nursing but will also spend a proportion of your time managing and developing your team and working with other Head Nurses and the Clinical Heads of Service to ensure that the teams are appropriately resourced and working effectively providing our usual high standards of in-patient care.
If you have previous experience of managing a nursing team, are RCVS registered, and are looking to progress your nursing management career, we would like to hear from you. You may currently be in a Deputy role, or a Head Nurse role in a smaller practice and looking for the next steps in your career.
We will provide opportunities for learning and professional development in nursing and general management.
We offer an attractive salary based on experience, 33 days leave, private healthcare, generous pension scheme, life cover, income protection and a range of other benefits.
