Founded in 2003 by Professor Dick White, DWR has grown rapidly to become the largest private veterinary referral hospital in the UK, currently with 250 employees. DWR is a busy, purpose-built specialist referral-only small animal veterinary hospital providing 24/7 referral-only services for patients across England.  The hospital is fully equipped with the surgical equipment and diagnostic facilities commensurate with a flagship specialist veterinary hospital.  

We are dedicated to excellence, trust and care in all we do as a hospital and as an employer and to the development of veterinary professionals. We are an Educational Partner with the University of Nottingham, we also have the Dick White Academy on site and run regular CPD events.

Job Summary:

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Nurse Lecturer, who is passionate and conscientious, to join our Lecturing team working in our busy Academy. The position will involve planning and delivering learning activities, marking coursework, participating in other quality processes (e.g. visits to practices), acting as Personal Tutor and as a Course Director.

Successful Candidate:

You will be an RVN or MRCVS and have a passion and drive for teaching and delivering outstanding results. You will be enthusiastic, confident and articulate and work to the highest standards.  You will be a team player who enjoys working in a supportive working environment whilst also being able to use your initiative.

Working 40 hours a week. We are able to consider part time applicants for this role or job share.

DWR is a multidisciplinary small animal veterinary referral centre in Six Mile Bottom, close to Cambridge and Newmarket. It receives a high case load from first opinion practitioners and offers services in a  wide range of discipline, each led by Board-certified Specialists.

We are proud to have an outstanding team of highly qualified veterinarians, veterinary nurses, physiotherapists and support staff. Each one of them is completely dedicated to the comfort and wellbeing of all of our patients.

Our services are all headed by Specialist veterinary surgeons. These are qualified veterinary surgeons who have completed extensive additional training and passed an examination that evaluates their knowledge and skill. Veterinary Specialists must be re-accredited every 5 years to prove that they have maintained their knowledge of, and activity within, their chosen speciality.
