Veterinary Surgeon - Thame, Oxfordshire

Well equipped, independent, first opinion veterinary hospital seeking a veterinary surgeon to join our team of nine vets. Good central location in pretty market town in Oxfordshire. High priority client and patient care.

The Practice
We are a well-established and independent Veterinary Hospital in Thame in Oxfordshire. Our friendly team of nine vets includes a medicine certificate holder. We pride ourselves on an excellent standard of patient and client care and have facilities to work up cases to a high level.

We are supported by a team of qualified nurses and nurses in training. We also have three auxiliaries and a team of receptionists.

We offer on site blood analysis, dental x ray, endoscopes, ultrasound and all the facilities that a hospital provides.

The Role
Our new Vet will join the team on a varied small animal role of consultations and surgery. Every opportunity is given to work up and deal with your own cases and assistance from the team is readily available. We work to 15 minute consults and finish at either 5,6 or 7pm on the rota. In addition our working week is only four days. There is an on call rota of 1:7 weekends and weeknights and a day off in lieu is given. Accommodation is available.

Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will have the ability to fit in and work as part of a supportive team, have an ability to deal and communicate well with people, have a keen interest and a good knowledge in Veterinary medicine and either good surgical skills or a desire to improve skills to an advanced level.

The Package
The package includes a good salary, commensurate with experience, five weeks holiday plus Bank Holidays, a good CPD budget with an allowance of five extra days off. Candidates wishing to enrol for certificates will be given extra support. Two membership fees will be paid, as will VDS cover.
