Senior Surgical/Medical Veterinary Surgeon Opportunity West Yorkshire - ref; 10119
Our clients senior Vet retired in April, and they would ideally like to add someone with a more surgical focus but would potentially look at someone more medical if they had surgical experience. Must be at least 3 years qualified.
There are currently 9 vets across the 4 sites. The full time vets will work a 4 day week. This is usually 9am to 8.15pm one day and 9am to 6.15pm three days. The vets can potentially work at any of the 4 branches but they try their best to limit them to one or two branches if possible (Monday to Friday)
The rota equates to approx. 38 hours per week. A full time rota would work approx. 22 Saturday mornings per year as a share of the rota.
The full weekends are approx. 6 to 7 per year and the week following a weekend an additional one and a half days off are given.
The vet working the weekend will work 9am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. During the midday period the emergency phone is diverted to Leeds Emergency Vets and also after 5pm until the next morning. If there are no in-patients/ops to do this middle period is potentially free. There is always a receptionist and Nurse working alongside the Vet.
The Practice pays for VDS and RCVS cover. They supply a Company Pension with NEST and contributions are made at the current recommended government levels.
You would will be entitled to 5 weeks holiday plus the bank holidays per year. They do have a vet working on bank holidays and these are shared out equally. A day off elsewhere would be given for the vet working a bank holiday.
Childcare vouchers and the cycle to work scheme are available at the Practice. Medical cover is also provided with HealthShield.
The CPD allowance is £1500. They are extremely pro-active about staff enhancement and development. There would be opportunity for further development with certificates etc and these would be actively encouraged.
