About us:
We have an exciting opportunity for a confident Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team at Salford Companion Care!
Based within a thriving Pets at Home store on the Regents Retail Park, the practice is well established with a great caseload mix and flow of potential new clients.
We are conveniently located within easy reach of Manchester City Centre, with excellent transport links to the shops, restaurants, and Manchester International Airport.
The bright, air-conditioned surgery is purpose built to industry leading standards and has state of the art equipment including ultrasound, blood machine, x-ray, haematology, BP, operating theatre and in-house lab. By joining us, you’ll become part of a progressive surgery dedicated to providing the highest standards of care to clients and their pets.
We are a team of 20 colleagues with 4 permanent Vets plus 3 specialists that we work alongside. We have Antonio Nocco our Senior Vet with over 25 years experience and all the other Vets have over 4 years experience.
As a practice we really believe in supporting and developing our skill sets so all our vets are currently undertaking certificates as we a restless to ensure we provide the best care possible to our clients!
We are happy to provide the opportunity for you to complete a specialised certificate, once you have completed you 3 month probation period. We are doing TPLO and all soft tissues surgeries alongside our routine surgeries. We have another 2 external specialists that work alongside with us, 1 of which is a heart specialist and 1 is an internal specialist.
About the role:
We are looking for a full time Vet to work 40 hours per week which can be split over 4 or 5 days as we are flexible around the working rota. There will be a requirement to work 1 in 4 weekends which results in an extra day off during the week for this week.
The ideal candidate will have good general small animal surgical and diagnostic skills along with a desire to explore and complete full work up on cases.
You'll have the support of a great, experienced nursing team and proactive non-clinical colleagues. The practice provides full support and encouragement and allows clinical freedom for continued personal growth and development.
We have a very generous CPD offering which we encourage and support our colleagues to undertake, including long term courses.
We are looking for someone confident, friendly and enthusiastic with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
