Are you a veterinary couple moving to the Angus area? Want to work near each other in supportive sister practices while still having the freedom to grow independently? Robson Vets in Laurencekirk and Abbey Vets in Arbroath want you!
Robson Vets is excited to welcome an enthusiastic and confident small animal vet to join our experienced and supportive team. As one of our vets transitions to focus on Internal Medicine, we’re looking for a new team member who thrives in a dynamic environment. We are a Tier 2 RCVS-accredited practice with a branch in the scenic seaside town of Montrose, proudly providing exceptional care to a variety of pets-including exotics! Our team includes three experienced vets (with over 40 years of combined experience), five RVNs, and a dedicated support team, including SVNs, VCAs, and welcoming reception staff.
If you’re ready to grow, develop your skills, and take on sole charge when needed (with support always just a call away), we’d love to hear from you! And if you and your partner want to work in friendly, close-knit sister practices, this could be the perfect opportunity.
What You'll Be Stepping Into
This role offers a diverse mix of consulting and operating, shared over a 4-day working week (up to 40 hours). Though we are a first-opinion practice, we pride ourselves on performing comprehensive in-house investigations, making use of and continuously building on the expertise within our team. We strongly support and encourage ongoing professional development, including studying toward advanced qualifications. We have excellent relationships with referral practices, and for more advanced procedures, we work with a visiting orthopaedic surgeon. While our out-of-hours services are covered by Vets Now in Aberdeen and Dundee, our dedicated nursing team remains on-site to care for in-patients around the clock when needed.
Our Facilities
Our practice is equipped with state-of-the-art tools, including digital dental and standard radiography, a cold laser, rigid and flexible endoscopes, and a recently upgraded ultrasound machine with a cardiac probe. We boast a fully equipped in-house laboratory with biochemistry, haematology, urinalysis, and cytology capabilities, with plans to add tabletop AI slide interpretation in the near future. Our facilities also include dedicated dog, cat, ICU, and isolation wards, 2 operating theatres, a dental suite, and an imaging room. We are proud to hold the ISFM Cat Friendly Silver award, are a Positive Pawprint Partner, and a PDSA Partner Practice.
Location and Lifestyle
Laurencekirk sits on the border between Angus and Aberdeenshire, offering an ideal balance of rural and urban living. You’ll be just 30 minutes from Aberdeen and 40 minutes from Dundee, with quick access to the stunning landscapes of the Cairngorms, making it perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. Hillwalking, beaches (both sandy and rugged), and a host of other recreational activities are all within easy reach, allowing for a fantastic work-life balance.

Company
Robson Vets was first established in Fettercairn on 1st January 1900 by Mr H.W.Robson MRCVS, a house surgeon from the Royal (Dick) Veterinary College.
In 1917 the business moved to ‘Glenroyd’, Laurencekirk and remained there until 1996 when we moved to the new, purpose built, Veterinary Hospital in the Business Park, Laurencekirk.
The surgeries in Montrose and Inverbervie were added in the early 1980's, followed by the purchase of Mr A.M.Williamson's veterinary practice in Portlethen in October 2007. This has given us the opportunity to extend our services to a much wider area.
