About Us

Our practice is based in the centre of a small village, with free parking, views out over the local football fields, and pleasant footpaths to walk at lunchtimes. We’ve built our client base up from the local community and frequently see our patients out on their walks, interacting with each other as they go past the door. We opened in 2020 and have seen an increase in client and patient numbers such that we now need an extra vet to share the workload.

Our aim is to maintain animal health and well-being through prevention and early intervention. Our health plans have proved very popular, resulting in greater owner compliance.

Vets are supported by registered veterinary nurses, animal nursing assistants and receptionists to deliver comprehensive care to our clients and their pets.

Although this industry can be unpredictable, we make an effort to manage our diary to ensure a balanced working day, with 15-minute consultations and regular breaks.

The Role

Our days are a mixture of consultations and surgical procedures. Some sole charge shifts are likely to be expected.

Our out of hours provider is less than 10 minutes down the road and able to accept patients when they need to be transferred.

A purpose converted practice with separate wards for cats, dogs and isolation. Dental suite (x-ray installation pending), imaging room (digital x-ray and ultrasound), theatre, lab (Idexx set up with Procyte, Catalyst, Sedivue and inVue Dx Cellular Analyser (cytology on skin/ears, blood film analysis) and working microscope.

Successful Candidate

Must be fully confident with bitch spays and other routine surgical procedures. A good communicator to both clients and between the team. A good fit within our team.

The Package

• £45,000 to £65,000 pro rata
• Fixed hours each week
• A share on the Saturday (9-12) consults only rota
• 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata)

• BSAVA Membership
• RCVS Fees
• Vitality health insurance (upon completion of probationary period)
• Treatment of own pets at cost (Plus VAT)
