Job Details
Chichester Vets is a friendly forward-thinking single site 3-4 vet independent practice set at the foot of the South Downs National Park.
The Role
we are looking for a full or part time Veterinary Surgeon to join our cohesive, experienced and supportive team. You will enjoy clinical freedom within an EBVM minded collaborative team where we encourage an individualised approach to patient care. We take pride in developing our client relationships and building lasting trust.
We are proactive at supporting and celebrating our team, everyone’s opinion is respected and valued, and we appreciate the demands and importance of LIFE outside of work.
A full-time position is a 4-day week (8. 30am-6.30pm) with a Saturday morning (8.30am-12.30pm) on a shared rota.
We run the majority of appointments 15 minutes with longer if required (PTS, complex medical etc…) with a mix of operating and consulting sessions. We play to our strengths so are flexible on how time is managed to suit individual preferences and interests.
Out-of-hours care is provided by a dedicated independent emergency hospital 10mins into town, so we don’t have to compromise our patient’s welfare to enjoy guilt free uninterrupted sleep and weekend fun!
We have an experienced team of qualified Veterinary Nurses and are a training practice with an SVN.
We would support further training to those seeking development in their chosen field, however we currently have a new grad and so are unable to support another at this time.
The Package
All the usual kit, in-house lab...
- RCVS fees
- BSAVA/BVA subs
- Generous CPD budget
- 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays
- Salary dependent on experience

Company
We are a local team, most of us having been brought up in and around Chichester, and we are committed to remaining an independent non-corporate practice owned and run by local vets and nurses. Our experienced team works together utilising decades worth of experience, skill and knowledge to deliver you with the best care and service.
At Chichester vets our mission is to provide a full range of high quality, affordable and modern veterinary care that is tailored to you and your pet’s needs; inside a personal, traditional and friendly practice. We recognise that each one of our patients are individual, and we enjoy spending the time to get to know them as the unique characters they are.
Our vision is to build long term relationships with our patients and you, their owners; where healthcare is about knowing, understanding and enabling choice; recognising that the welfare of the three important elements (Patient, Client and Vet) is fundamental to achieving this. We are working to a new model, one that is not based around the usual business plan, and one that we feel is fit for the future. We want to ensure and maintain the joy, companionship and affordability of having a pet. To that end we intend to remain small, personal and approachable. Using the contacts we have made over the years to ensure the best healthcare possible for our patients, offering our specialist skills to our clients and to colleagues and referring what others do better to those others where necessary. In short we have evolved a practice offering truly integrated healthcare for animals
