Job Details
Veterinary Surgeon needed for our busy practice based in Bishopbriggs (Glasgow) paying up to £55,000 depending on experience (FTE)
About Us:
You will join a very stable team which is currently made up of 4 FT vets, 2 FT RVNs, 3 FT RVNs, 1 SVN, Practice Manager and 3 receptionists, which we find is the perfect balance for ensuring you always get breaks and time in the diary to catch up on admin.
The practice is located in East Dunbartonshire and within a 20-minute drive of the city centre of Glasgow. The international airport in Glasgow is within a 30-minute drive of the practice which makes it the ideal location for international vets returning home for holidays or is an easy gateway for a city break in Europe during your time off.
At Bishopbriggs Vets4Pets we are an RCVS PSS (and have been for the past 13 years), an RVN training practice, a Silver Cat Friendly practice and we are currently working towards the Investors in Environment award. To support all of this we have excellent facilities and equipment within the practice which includes a full in-house Lab (Lasercyte and Catalyst), an oxygen chamber, ultrasound, digital x-ray, tonometer, patient warmer, fluid pumps, syringe driver and many more.
We work on 15-minute consults, with regular time blocked out to catch up on paperwork. In addition, we also set aside time for lab results, repeat prescriptions and vet discharge appointments to ensure that you never get behind and can leave on time at the end of your shift as we value your personal life outside of work. Our nurses also conduct daily consults in practice to assist the vets including 2nd vaccinations, microchips, bandage checks just to name a few.
The role:
We are looking for a full time Veterinary Surgeon working around 35 hours per week, with 1 in 3 Saturdays.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ experience working in Small Animal practice in the UK a, with solid surgical skills, and the drive to work up medical cases in practice . This position will be fully supported by our Practice Director who has over 20 years clinical experience and has run the practice since it opened in 2011.
This role has the potential for the right candidate to develop into a clinical lead and certificates will be supported.
As well as a great practice and team environment, we also provide additional benefits including a paid one-hour lunch break, access to a colleague food pantry, an extra day off for your birthday, private healthcare contribution, and a live app to track your rota and holidays. Depending on your experience level we are offering a salary in the region of £40-55K per annum.
If you would like to find out more information about the position or to have a no strings attached conversation, please reach out to Chris at chris.mcgaugie@vets4pets.com or contact Rach on northvets@vets4pets.com
Location: G64 2TS
