The Opportunity

Stoke Newington has a friendly and wonderful team, our lead and second vet are very experienced with over 20 years between them! We also have a brilliant third vet half the week. 

Jonathan, our Lead loves surgery, and we have plenty of it. It’s a busy clinic, lots of clients, surgery and consults. We have a SVN and dedicated client care assistant plus a Practice Manager to support with the admin tasks so the team can really focus on doing what they enjoy! 

To support your work-life balance, this role works to a 4-day week with 1:6 weekends. You’ll have a set day off each week, providing continuity to make plans and enjoy your extra free time!

The practice is well equipped with digital x-ray and dental x-ray, ultrasound, tonometer, bronchoscope and endoscope, blood pressure machine, ECG, full lab including microscope, haematology, biochemistry analyser, diathermy and more!

There’s opportunity for nurse consults and we will support you with training and internal CPD to build confidence and develop your consulting skills, we also have a bespoke nutritional ambassador programme!

To help your clinical passions flourish, we have created clinical communities where vets and nurses with shared interests can connect and collaborate on a regular basis!

The practice sits on a the high street, just a short walk from Canonbury and Dalston Kingsland Overground stations.  Our address is 72 Green Lanes, Newington Green, London N16 9EJ.

Role Accountabilities 

Exceptional care is at the heart of everything we do at Medivet. That’s the care for our patients, our clients and for each other – we really want to make a positive difference through every interaction we have.  In this role you will: 

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients. 

  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity. 

  • Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.  

  • Deliver patient monitoring and care. 

  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team. 

  • If relevant: Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care. 

  • Dispense and check medication. 

  • Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards. 

  • Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.  

Your Skills and Experience 

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse. 

  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care. 

  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team. 

  • Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.  

  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
