Holmefield Vets has its main site in the beautiful village of Brayton with a smaller branch practice in the picturesque Sherburn-in-Elmet. We are situated in a beautiful semi-rural location in North Yorkshire, whilst still being well connected to city life. There are regular direct trains from Selby to London, Manchester and Leeds and there is also a train station in Sherburn-in-Elmet. We are just a 20-minute drive from York, and Leeds and Hull are within striking distance too. Brayton is a lovely village with 2 pubs, a village hall that offers scouts and cubs and cricket and rugby clubs. Brayton is next door to the lovely town of Selby with fantastic restaurants, including a new tapas restaurant, and the beautiful Selby Abbey, steeped in history. Sherburn in Elmet is a popular village with a super selection of pubs, restaurants and shops including a lovely little deli.
We have a fantastic, dedicated team of 8 Vets and 8 Nurses as well as a wonderful Administrative team. Within our team, we have certificate holders in Feline Medicine and Small Animal Surgery, plus 2 Vets currently studying for certificates: one in Oncology and the other Feline Medicine.
At the main site we have access to modern, reliable, and well-maintained equipment including digital x-ray, a brand-new ultrasound suitable for both abdominal and cardiac scans, flexible, K-laser, multiparameter monitoring machine and doppler blood pressure. We have separate species wards and are proud to be a cat friendly clinic. We also have a separate bereavement room to ensure a pet’s final visit is as peaceful as possible. Company
Our aim as a practice is to be recognised by our community as the best local small animal veterinary provider and the first place to go for all their pets’ health, welfare, advisory and nutritional needs.
Our mission at Holmefield Vets is to deliver professional veterinary care that pets would choose for themselves at our surgeries in both Brayton and Sherburn-in-Elmet. Our priority is not only to provide them with complete diagnostics and treatment when they are ill but also to offer the best preventative health advice at all life stages. Members of our veterinary and nursing teams will be available around the clock 365 days a year to provide emergency treatment within our own clinics.
We also believe that our treatment of our clients is of equal importance. All members of our 26 strong team of experienced vets, qualified and trainee nurses, reception and administration staff will endeavor to build a strong trusted relationship with them. Using clear communication we will help our clients make the right decisions based on the principles of ‘best practice’ veterinary care. Through this positive partnership we will meet their expectations but aspire to exceed them.
