Are you an experienced Dairy Vet looking for that next challenge?
We have a fantastic opportunity for a driven, and experienced farm vet to join Shires Vets in Staffordshire.
We are looking for an experienced, dedicated, and driven dairy vet who is looking for the next step in their career, and relishes a new challenge. The position is to join a team of farm vets, ATTS, and lay staff as we strive to improve and develop the service we offer to our large loyal following of farmers.
The services you will provide to our clients include routine herd fertility visits with lay staff to record data, bull fertility testing, TB testing, herd health planning, 24-hour emergency care, disease outbreak investigation, and herd performance analysis.
We also have a healthy beef client base and an active sheep flock health club. We occasionally see the odd camelid, goat, and pig with the option to expand this caseload if this is of interest to you.

About us
Shires Vets Farm is located in the picturesque Staffordshire market town of Eccleshall and has been part of the local community for over 80 years. Starting with just a couple of visionary veterinarians, the practice has grown to over 20 vets with separate Farm, equine and small animal departments. We operate throughout Staffordshire and parts of Cheshire and Shropshire.
Highly equipped site with all the usual toys including interherd plus fertility software, TB master, rectal scanners, Bull and Ram fertility testing kit, automatic faecal egg counter, in-house lab for basic bloods and colostrum testing, farm animal offices, pharmacy, and farm animal health shop.
We are often involved within our local community including sponsoring local events such as the Staffordshire County Show, client and family quiz nights, and the Staffordshire Christmas tractor run.
Here at Shires, we organise regular meetings and discussion groups that are an invaluable tool for both vets and farmers. It allows us to share new ideas and experiences as well as learn about advances within the industry. Throughout the year Shires Vets schedule a range of in-house talks, on-farm walks, and practical workshops including young farmer's talks.
At Linnaeus, we are committed to supporting the physical and mental health of all our Associates. We have an amazing team of Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA) across our practices and central support office in addition to a confidential Employee Assistance Programme which is available for everyone.
