The Opportunity:

Our lovely Whitton practice are looking for a Head RVN to lead the team. By joining us, you’ll be part of a large supportive team who deliver exceptional care by putting patients and clients first.

We are a relatively small but friendly and supportive team with a focus on providing a personalised, caring service to our clients. We see a high number of ophthalmology cases including second opinion work.

We are looking for someone who has the drive and ambition to develop their career and who are passionate about optimising the client and patient experience. Whitton has 2 vets and a full support team, with experience in clinical coaching. The clinic is very well equipped and lead by our two branch partners who create a friendly and welcoming environment.

The clinic is located in Whitton near to Twickenham stadium and the surrounding amenities. We are walking distance from Hounslow train station and easy access from the A316/M3.

This is full time maternity cover, working 40 hours over 5 days with 1:6 weekends.

Role Accountabilities:

In this role you will:

  • Provide clinical leadership to the nursing team.
  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
  • Lead, manage and promote nurse led appointments and Schedule 3 surgeries.
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
  • Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medication.
  • Deliver professional excellence, implementing and complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
  • Inspire your team, sharing new or evolving practice standards and changes to processes.
  • Engage, coach and develop your team.
  • Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice across practices and the wider Medivet community.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Able to confidently lead a clinical team.
  • Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture through nurse clinics and nurse consultations.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
