Welcome to Wanstead Veterinary Hospital! Our largest 24-hour hospital in the group is looking for an RVN who thrives and excels in the ECC environment and is ready to step into a deputy head nurse role, on a 4-day week basis.

Our deputy head RVN salary band is £35,000 to £40,000 depending on prior experience and allowing room for growth within the role.

About the role

 




This is a 4-day week role (10-hour shifts), rota’ d to either Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday. Lieu days will be rotated and shared, meaning there will be a 4-day weekend every other week. The rota will be shared with our other deputy head nurse to be part charge nursing and managing the clinical floor, clinical shifts, and allowing for administration time.

 




Your rota will also include an average of 1:6 weekends with TOIL.

-Diary Management 
-Co-ordination of the clinical team to support the daily running and operation 
-Preferred Line management experience as you will be line managing a team of VNA’s
-Set an excellent example of clinical standard and high quality of care
- Effective communication with front of house to ensure smooth daily running
-Work closely with hospital management to promote a positive and supportive environment

 




This role would suit an experienced hospital RVN looking to take the next step in leading a team, or an accomplished head nurse of a busy branch, wanting to advance their skills further in a fast-paced hospital environment.

 




There is fantastic diagnostic support at Wanstead, with a new CT scanner, a commercial laboratory, a strong medical team, and experienced surgeons routinely conducting advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue, and minimally invasive surgery all available on site.

 




You will be working alongside a large team consisting of approximately 24 vets, 27 RVNs, 14 SVNs, 7 VCAs and a large front of house team who are integral in maintaining excellent client care.

 




You will play a pivotal part in maintaining engagement within your team, ensuring the highest level of patient care is being provided, while being able to develop your own leadership skills.

 




Wanstead itself is on the outskirts of leafy Essex but has quick and direct transport links that take you straight into all areas of London! There is a bustling café and restaurant culture in Wanstead so you will never be short of places to visit for a treat.
