Join a family run, experienced clinical team paying up to £70,000 (FTE, DOE)
About Us:
Our veterinary surgeon owned and led practice is looking to welcome a passionate and friendly vet into their team at Vets for Pets Oldham. They are an in-store practice located on an attractive local retail park with a range of big-name retailers offering plenty of places to shop and eat at lunchtimes. The local area also has a great deal to offer, close to the vibrant and cosmopolitan city of Manchester, with its legendary nightlife, and a stone’s throw from the expansive and stunningly beautiful countryside of Saddleworth Moor and the Peak District with a wealth of walks and places to explore.
The practice has excellent transport links, close to the M62 and with several of the local towns, where colleagues live, serviced by Manchester’s Metrolink, which can carry you quickly into the centre of Manchester for days out or on to Manchester Airport for trips further afield.
Our Oldham Vets for Pets practice is owned and run by Barbara, who is supported by her husband Greg and the rest of their fantastic team. Barbara has been a qualified veterinary surgeon for over 25 years and has a wealth of knowledge both surgical and medical, that she enjoys using to support and mentor her colleagues.
Barbara and Greg have been running the practice since 2019 and one of their key goals when they took over was to make Vets for Pets Oldham a great place to work. They believe strongly in creating a collaborative, supportive and welcoming work environment where colleagues enjoy working, thrive and feel empowered to give their best to their patients and clients.
With more than 440 small animal practices across the country, of all shapes and sizes, Vets for Pets is one of the largest UK veterinary groups and offers Veterinary Surgeons a range of opportunities. What really makes Vets for Pets unique however, is our partner owned practices which are all run by their local practice owners. The partner owned practices have complete clinical freedom and our practice owners decide how their practice will be run. This means you will be part of a local team that can support your individual needs and at which you can have an impact on how the practice operates, develops and grows and, if you wish, have the opportunity to own and run your own practice.
About you:
You’ll be a people person who understands this job is not just about giving the best veterinary care but also about building great relationships with clients and colleagues. Ideally you’ll be confident with both consultations and routine surgical procedures, however, the practice can accommodate a consult only position for the right candidate. You’ll be someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, happy to jump in and support your colleagues when they need it and enjoy getting that same support in return. You’ll enjoy taking pride in what you do and derive satisfaction from being able to help shape and mould the business and environment in which you work.
What’s on offer?
To find out more about this fantastic opportunity, please contact Rach at Northvet@vets4pets.com and we will get back to you within 1 working day.
Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
- Consult only can be considered
- Excellent rates of pay up to £70,000 (FTE, DOE)
- Full or part time can be considered for the role
- 1 in 3 weekends
- Excellent transport links, being close to the M62 and with the local town of Shaw and Crompton supported by Manchester Metrolink.
