Are you ready for an exhilarating career move to one of the most stunning regions in the UK? Carlisle Vets for Pets in beautiful Cumbria is seeking a dedicated vet to join our friendly and dynamic team!
Imagine living just half an hour from the Scottish borders and less than an hour from the breathtaking Lake District National Park. If you have a passion for outdoor activities and exploring magnificent landscapes, Carlisle is your perfect playground. Our practice, nestled on the North of River Eden, is easily accessible by local bus routes or a short, scenic walk.
We are looking for a full-time Veterinary Surgeon to work 40 hours a week, with no out-of-hours or weekend shifts, ensuring you have ample time to enjoy life outside of work. However, we're flexible and open to discussing hours that best suit your needs. Whether you are a seasoned vet or a recent graduate, we offer a supportive environment tailored to help you succeed.
Our close-knit team includes a surgery certificate holder, three proactive RVNs, and other supportive colleagues who create a warm and collaborative atmosphere. We value teamwork and strive to make our practice a place where everyone feels valued and empowered.
At Carlisle Vets for Pets, we provide 15-minute consultations with added time for paperwork and results, ensuring you can give each patient the attention they deserve. Our nurses also conduct consultations to help manage the workload efficiently and take those nail clips and AG expresses out of your diary! Our clients are generally friendly and proactive, with many having pet insurance.
Our state-of-the-art facilities include a dedicated operating theatre, digital X-ray, in-house laboratory, brand-new ultrasound for abdominal and cardiac scanning, and comprehensive dentistry equipment, all designed to deliver top-notch care.
Join us at Carlisle Vets for Pets, where you can advance your career in a supportive environment while enjoying the scenic beauty and outdoor adventures that Cumbria has to offer!

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
